My Story

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning, but for children, it is serious learning” - Fred Rogers

Alicia believes that children and adolescents, as well as adults, must be given a variety of tools to understand, express and integrate their life experiences to develop adaptive strategies for the future. Alicia leads with curiosity and trusts in the client’s inner directionality. Whether working with children, adolescents, parents, families, or adults, Alicia relies on a variety of therapeutic tools and modalities including mindfulness-based practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, Brief Intervention Therapy, and experience in trauma and crisis counseling. In addition, Alicia brings her extensive knowledge and experience of Child-Centered Play Therapy and Gestalt Play and Art Therapy to her practice.

Alicia has experience working with clients with varying diagnoses and presenting problems such as: Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Adjustment Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, ADHD, and Autism.
